Davos: Peter Gabriel sings Biko, a capella

The most amazing session I attended this year in Davos was a 2-hour Dignity Day event in a local school auditorium.

Speakers included the schoolchildren, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Richard Branson and Peter Gabriel, who sang Biko a capella.

Hearing Desmond Tutu speak was an incredible experience. I have rarely seen someone captivate and hold an audience with such simplicity, humility and light heartedness.

At the end of the event Peter Gabriel led the entire room in singing his tribute to Steve Biko.

  • Thanks for capturing this Thomas, on behalf of all of the co-founders for Global Dignity. What an incredible day with those kids -- ours leaders for the future. And it was pure magic that you recorded Peter doing this.

  • Thanks for sharing. Admire the man and his music. Admire the sentiments. Not sure this is a suitable song for singing a-capella.

Once he gets into it, Peter Gabriel is awesome and Biko is inspiring as ever.
  • Thank you for sharing this! I have been a huge Peter Gabriel fan for 25 years, and would have loved to have heard this live.
