Le Web becomes Le Sauna

PARIS (Dec 9, 2008) In a shocking move hours ahead of his annual gathering of digerati in Europe was due to begin, blogger and entrepreneur Loic Le Meur announced he has changed business plan and would turn his Le Web conference into Le Sauna.

The move was immediately hailed by the Finnish Sauna Society as a forward-looking take on Social Media.

“For more than a thousand years we Finns have understood that the Sauna was the world’s first Social Media,” said Suomi Korhonen, an avid Sauna goer. “People get hot under the collar about Facebook and Twitter, but things really do heat up in a fine Finnish Sauna.”

European entrepreneurs and Silicon Valley hotshots will be sweating it out in a genuine Finnish sauna overseen by a genuine Finnish sauna master. (More on the video)

  • Great post, I would have to agree with the Frenchman.
  • Actually a lot of people in Paris speak English, but speaking french can only help.
  • As a French webmaster myself, it is always interesting to see what kind of viral marketing techniques are utilized by my fellow countrymen.
  • Does Le Sauna have provision for real time blogging? To be truly a social media event in the spirit of Le Web there must be a ruggedized PC available inside with Internet access. Instantaneous sauna impressions can then be shared with the World!.

  • Paris is definitely the place to visit. There are many beautiful sites to see. I've seen many restaurants and visited their chefs there. They have a wide variety of foods.
  • As an entrepreneur you always have to be re-inventing new ideas and putting spins on things to keep life fulfilling and entertaining. This is exactly what Loic Le Mur has done here and it has worked perfectly for a PR stunt.
  • Very funny move here by Loic Le Mur, always engaging philanthropist.
  • Paris is a great place, but you need to speak le Francais to get around there. Good post Thomas!
  • Sigh, I've always wanted to goto paris.
