Alvin Woon is the co-founder of the popular social networking site Plurk.com that was created in November 2007.
Plurk.com is a Twitter-style social networking website that is very popular in Asia. As the design lead of this startup, Alvin leads the art direction and conceptualizes the idea of timeline interaction. The main goal of this project is to give users a rich conversational experience that involves a reading pattern from left to right, as opposed to the more conventional way of top to bottom. Plurk is a bit like Twitter, but with a timeline-based interface that focuses on conversation not just posting info. It has the potential to be the future of micro-blogging.
