It is often said that Western companies don’t understand Asia and Comscore’s latest State of the Internet certainly shows how Mountain View’s giant of search has taken the slow boat to Asia.
Google owns Europe and Dominates Latin America
Google’s market share of more than 90 percent in six European markets suggests why the Europeans are so desperate to push their Quaero project.
but seriously lags in Asia.
Google has a market share of less than 50 percent in Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Korea (with only 5 percent).
