Web 2.0 turns us all into Yogis

For a unique take on the impact of Web 2.0, please meet Gregory Lent.

Gregory, who spent much of the last decade in India meditating with his Guru, emerged to discover broadband only one year ago.

Now obsessively immersed in Twitter (@gregorylent), blogging, Web 2.0 and its implications, Gregory says he has found nothing so far on the Internet that was not written about thousands of years ago in India.

“Broadband is what the Yogi can already do with their psychic
abilities,” Gregory says. “The Internet is the out-picturing of the
abilities that the mind already has.”

Yogis easily understand the concepts around Web 2.0, he added, since much of the innovation centers around what they have taught for thousands of years: The collapse of space, time and the growth of a global consciousness.

Thus, thanks to tools such as Twitter, Facebook and Wikipedia, Gregory says we are all turning into Yogis!

Now you know!

  • Very very nice, Gregory!! Good to see you life :)

I would however like to point out that the final result of what you say is absolutely right but the route undertaken to "broadband-ness" differs widely for yogis and for those on inet. Also, the fruits reaped while undertaking this route and change in thinking and seeing differ immensely.

It is like, to give an analogy, seeing Jesus Christ live his life and trying to imitate him by taking the appearances side of his life as a guide. This would perhaps bring some parallels but the essence will remain quite different unless a personal experience is felt..which can and might happen.

    :)

    Cheers,
    H.
  • Awesome. Great to see Gregory's thoughts on video. I think I need to watch it a few times to let it all soak in!
