India’s Coming Urban Crisis
Nov 10, 2009
Sitting today in Delhi traffic, you might say the crisis is already here, but based on population trends and urban immigration projections put together in a report by Booz & Co, more trouble is on the way. At the invitation of Booz & co, I spent a morning here in Delhi at the World Economic Forum’s India summit with a group that included economist CK Prahalad discussing the impact of India’s incredible population growth.
Compared with 2005, additional 320 million people will enter India’s working age population by 2030…
…and India is becoming more urbanized than China, BUT not yet spending on infrastructure.
