Role of Mobile Phones in China Commerce

Jun 11, 2012

TNS recently shared their latest Mobile Life study about global behaviors and mobile phones. Drawing research into behaviors, motivations and priorities of 48,000 people in 58 countries, the study offers a great comparative view of how mobile phones are used around the world.

There are many sections to choose from, but I found the “mobile path to purchase” in China particularly interesting. Fascinating to see how quickly phones have become integral to China’s commerce and socialization.

  • A cellular mobile phone is a device that can make phone calls over a radio link while moving around a extensive geographical area. It does so by connecting to a cellular system provided by a cellular mobile phone operator, allowing accessibility the public cellular phone system. By contrast, a Wi-Fi cellular phone is used only within the brief wide variety of a single, private base station.

  • I have used many famous brands phones like Nokia, Sony-Ericsson and Samsung. They were pretty expensive. When I saw the phones from China, My thought with Chinese's phones was not good. However, as time went by, I saw more people buying these types of phones and with the recent economic crisis; I thought maybe these gadgets were not so bad after all.
